American Coach Josh Manthe is an esteemed figure in the world of basketball and athletics, known for his dedication to Faith Academy in Manila, Philippines. As the Athletic Director and Head Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach, as well as the Middle School and Elementary boys' basketball coach, Coach Manthe plays a pivotal role in shaping the athletic program at Faith Academy.
Coach Manthe's basketball journey began during his university days at John Brown University, where he played as a power forward/center. Afterward, he embarked on a missionary journey with his family, settling in the Philippines for the past 20 years. Alongside his work at Faith Academy, Coach Manthe founded Buhay Sports, an organization that hosts and leads goodwill basketball teams throughout the Philippines.
Under Coach Manthe's guidance, Faith Academy's basketball program has thrived. The school has a rich basketball tradition, with a history dating back to 1959. Coach Manthe has contributed significantly to the program's success, leading the team to victories and championships. Notably, Faith Academy achieved 19 championships in the USA Department of Defense Far East basketball tournaments and secured five championships in the Asian Christian Schools Conference, with Coach Manthe at the helm.
Beyond the basketball court, Coach Manthe and his wife, Val, are dedicated to nurturing missionary kids through sports. They recognize the value of their roles in preparing young men and women to become exemplary individuals in all aspects of life.
Coach Manthe's impact extends beyond Faith Academy. Through Kids International Ministries and Buhay Sports, he has welcomed ministry outreach teams and facilitated opportunities for organizations worldwide to experience direct ministry to impoverished communities in the Philippines.
With Coach Manthe's leadership and commitment to excellence, Faith Academy's Vanguard Basketball Program continues to foster competitive athletes with strong character. His influence on the school and the Philippines basketball community is highly regarded, as he strives to develop individuals who embody their faith and school with pride and respect.

Head Coach, South China Athletics Association Women's Team
Coach Jerome Wan is a Certified Taipei Basketball Association coach and has over 15 years of coaching experience in Hong Kong at the High school and Professional level. He was the Associate Head Coach of the South China Athletic Association Men’s Division I team and coached them to multiple Championships from 2011-2014 and is currently the Head Coach of the SCAA Women’s Basketball team. Being a student of the game Jerome studied under various coaches and NBA trainers around the world, and has hosted clinics and basketball camps in Hong Kong with NBA Hall of Fame player Dikembe Mutombo, NBA Star Dale Ellis, NBA Player Jordan Clarkson, former NBA coach Tom Newell, WNBA player and skills trainer Danielle Viglione NCAA Coach Tim Fuller, skills Coach Drew Hanlen, as well as Coaches from Chinese Taipei National Team coaches and the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Jerome is also a Certified Skills Coach (U.S.A.) under NBA skills coach Ganon Baker.

With the ultimate objective of finding the "best fit" and comparable abilities among camp participants so as to maximise peer learning, a tryout will be held in April where basic skills such as dribbling, passing, handling and shooting will be assessed.
Fees
HKD$12,800
This is a 7-day-6-night residential camp, where students will be housed in the Chong Yau Pak Wan Residence Hall at St. Paul's Co-educational College and where boarding is compulsory. The programme fee is inclusive of programme fees, tuition fees and costs for all camp materials as well as room and board.

What do I have prepare for the try-out?You will be asked to demonstrate basic skills in dribbling, passing, handling and shooting in the try-out. Basic communication skills in English will also be assessed.

Are there scholarships available?A limited number of scholarships of up to 100% of the tuition fees (excluding room-and-board charge of HKD$4,800 per camp) may be offered to exceptionally gifted students based on a merit-based and impact assessment. Every applicant will be assessed in the audition/interview process.

What do I have prepare for the audition?You will be asked to sing a piece of your own choice that best displays your technical and musical ability. In addition, a sight-reading assessment may be given. The duration of your own choice piece should be between 2 to 3 minutes.

What do I have prepare for the interview?You will be expected to demonstrate your critical thinking skill in the interview. Basic communication skills in English will also be assessed. No prior coding experience is expected.

Who is eligible to apply?Any student currently enrolled in Primary 5 to Form 2 at the time of application, and who plays the piano or the violin to an advanced level is eligible to apply. This is a co-educational camp. Students are expected to have attained a performing diploma (at least ATCL, ARSM or equivalent with a merit or distinction) on their principal instrument. Applicants are required to submit a recent recording to showcase their musical abilities.

What do I have prepare for the audition?You will be asked to prepare two contrasting pieces (or excerpts of) on your principal instrument, lasting no more than a total of 10 minutes. There may be a sight-reading test and a discussion on music in the audition.
