As the Athletic Director and Head Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach, as well as the Middle School and Elementary boys' basketball coach, Coach Manthe plays a pivotal role in shaping the athletic program at Faith Academy.

Coach Manthe's basketball journey began during his university days at John Brown University, where he played as a power forward/center. Afterward, he embarked on a missionary journey with his family, settling in the Philippines for the past 20 years. Alongside his work at Faith Academy, Coach Manthe founded Buhay Sports, an organization that hosts and leads goodwill basketball teams throughout the Philippines.

Under Coach Manthe's guidance, Faith Academy's basketball program has thrived. The school has a rich basketball tradition, with a history dating back to 1959. Notably, Faith Academy achieved 19 championships in the USA Department of Defense Far East basketball tournaments and secured five championships in the Asian Christian Schools Conference, with Coach Manthe at the helm.

Beyond the basketball court, Coach Manthe and his wife, Val, are dedicated to nurturing missionary kids through sports. They recognize the value of their roles in preparing young men and women to become exemplary individuals in all aspects of life.

Coach Manthe's impact extends beyond Faith Academy. Through Kids International Ministries and Buhay Sports, he has welcomed ministry outreach teams and facilitated opportunities for organizations worldwide to experience direct ministry to impoverished communities in the Philippines.

With Coach Manthe's leadership and commitment to excellence, Faith Academy's Vanguard Basketball Program continues to foster competitive athletes with strong character.
