The Programme for the Musically Gifted (PMG) is a signature programme at the College to mentor gifted young musicians through an integrated approach. With performance practice and chamber music as its core elements, the programme is complemented by workshops exploring other aspects of music, from aural training to analysis, composing for performers to practicing strategies.

Bringing this exclusive programme to the community for the first time, the Summer PMG welcomes young pianists and violinists to immerse in a week of intense yet fulfilling music making!

Summer PMG 4
Eligibility
Current P5- F3
(~aged 11-15)
Boys & Girls

Summer PMG is open to any student who plays the piano or violin to an advanced level and is aged between 11-15. 

​

For reference, students are expected to have attained a performing diploma (e.g. ATCL, ARSM or equivalent) with merit or distinction in piano or violin.

Audition
April 13, 2024

There are only 8 places in the programme where students will be chosen by auditions. Applicants are required to submit a video recording for pre-screening and shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a live audition on April 13, 2024.

​

Students are required to prepare two contrasting pieces of no more than 10 minutes for the live audition that best showcase their technical abilities and musicalities. A sight-reading test will also be included in the audition.

Fees
HKD$16,800

This is a 7-day-6-night residential camp, where students will be housed in the Chong Yau Pak Wan Residence Hall at St. Paul's Co-educational College and where boarding is compulsory. The programme fee is inclusive of tuition fees, costs for all camp materials as well as room and board.
