AUDITION GUIDELINES

Please download the audition set piece below and view the video on this page, before preparing for your audition. There are two parts to the audition, where you are to (i) sing a short excerpt of the set piece (either the soprano or alto part at your choosing); (ii) follow the vocal drill as given on the video for assessing your vocal range.

Video Submission

You should record your singing while listening to or watching the provided video. In the recording, both the backing music and your voice should be captured. The audition panel will take into account factors such as vocal range, tone production, diction, expression as well as sense of rhythm; but above all else, whether you enjoy singing!

For students applying as a pianist, they are required to record the piano part of the excerpt of the same set piece.

Your video should be uploaded to YouTube as an unlisted video. You will be asked to submit a link in the e-Application form. A recording of the set piece is available on this page to help you familiarize with the music and you are recommended to learn it to the best of your ability before recording.

Zoom Audition on June 5

We understand that producing an audition video could be a daunting task. To make the application process as fun-filled as the camp itself sets out to be, we are also offering the option to audition online via Zoom on June 5 (Sunday) between 2pm to 6pm. Sign-up for the Zoom audition is on a first-come-first-served basis, where students will be expected to satisfy the same requirements as those applying by video submission.
